Choosing a Winner Among Detroit, MI and Surrounding Area Casinos
So you have a few bucks in your pocket and you want some excitement and fun, but where do you go in the Metro Detroit, Mi area? Well if you love to play games, take chances, and see amazing lights, and intriguing people try out the local casinos. Occasionally it is fun to throw caution to the wind and let yourself dream of winning big. Here are the casinos my husband and I have visited on occasion, listed in order of our most favorite to least favorite. They all offer programs for regular players for comps and great valet parking. Try them all and decide for yourself.
FireKeeper’s Casino just off of I-94 in Battle Creek, MI has a smaller feel and seems more intimate and a balanced level of chaos. It is immaculate, the staff is exceptionally friendly, from the dealers to restroom attendants. It is comfortable and inviting. There are many food and beverage choices. We stick to the lunch buffet which is a steal at $15 for what feels like endless options that span the world over.
MGM Grand Detroit on Third Street in Detroit, MI is the consummate Vegas style casino. It is bright, huge, so much fun, and filled with the best people watching ever. The staff is friendly. The food is delicious. Of the options Wolfgang Puck’s is my favorite but pricey.
I cannot do without having an occasional visit to MGM Grand as it is quite reminiscent of my childhood when my father used have a nice game of cards with his friends and it is from him that I have inherited this trait so I too do the same with my pals though I am more partial to kiu99.
Greektown Casino on East Lafayette in Detroit, MI is another wonderful location for fun gaming. The décor here is gorgeous. There are plenty of gaming options and great staff. On the bargain front, their $9.99 breakfast buffet is a steal. So go early and enjoy an amazing meal on the cheap and take your change and hit the huge nickel slots area for a blast.
Motorcity Casino on Grand River in Detroit, MI is impossible to miss in the skyline at night. The design and lighting are awe inspiring. Unfortunately the same care is not taken inside. It has been our experience that cleanliness is not a top priority, nor is monitoring the floors. There seemed to be drunk or loud and obnoxious folks every area we went to. The staff was friendly enough, but nearly the level of fun and happiness you find at other casinos. The lunch buffet is $19 and they make it where you can watch, but still not up to par with the other casinos offerings.
So call up a few friends and try them out. Bring your sense of adventure, appetite and pocket book. Gamble responsibly, but most importantly have fun!
